MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB
This is a no-nonsense recipe for corn on the cob. Perfect for when you run out of stove or grill space. I freeze the corn on the cob in plastic bags, and remove a single ear of frozen corn in the cold winter months to have the sweet taste of summer corn throughout the year!

MICROWAVE CORN-ON-THE-COB IN THE HUSK
This is one of my favorite ways to fix corn on the cob, even when I have several to fix. Without the water from boiling, the corn stays nice and sweet. Hope this helps just one young cook.

MICROWAVE CORN ON THE COB
Simple and quick. Different from the other recipes in that the corn is wrapped in wax paper. Adjustable to any reasonable amount of corn. Would be ideal for someone cooking for one or two. From Kraft Food + Family. The butter is listed as an optional ingredient since you really don't need it, but I enjoy melting a huge blob of it on my corn after it's done :-)

Steps:
- Shuck fresh corn. Wrap each ear in wax paper.
- Microwave for 2 minutes per ear of corn. (For 4 ears, 8 minutes.) Remove from microwave, open carefully, and enjoy. I like to top mine with salt and butter, the magazine suggested a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and lime juice.
- To keep them warm awhile, leave wrapped and cover with a kitchen towel :-).

KITTENCAL'S TENDER MICROWAVE CORN (WITH HUSKS ON)
Leaving the husks on while microwaving ensures a very tender steamed corn, you might not even want butter or salt after tasting this corn! --- don't worry the silks will fall right off after cooking! For each ear increase microwaving time 3 minutes. Cooking time is for 1 ear of corn :)

Steps:
- Cut off the floppy silks on top of the husks (do not remove the husk).
- To help remove the husks when cooked, cut off the bottom of the husks plus 1/4 inch of the cob. When done, the entire husk plus silk can easily be pulled off from the top.
- Wet both papers towels and squeeze out the water then wrap each husk well with double layer of damp paper towels.
- Place the corn/s around the outside of the turntable.
- Microwave for 1-1/2 minutes on HIGH, turn the corn onto it's otherside and continue to cook for another 1-1/2 minutes (feel the ear to be sure they are very hot).
- Using a towel carefully remove from microwave and let sit for 5 minutes before removing the husks and silks, the silks will slide off like magic (BE CAREFUL these are very hot!).
- Serve with butter and salt.

- Microwave the whole ears. Place as many as 4 ears of corn—husk, silk and all—in the microwave on a microwave-safe plate. Depending on how many ears you're cooking, let them microwave from anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes.
- Let them cool. Remove the ears of corn from the microwave and carefully roll them from the plate onto a cutting board. Give them some time to cool down so you don't hurt yourself when you begin cutting and husking the cobs.
- Cut off stem ends. With a large, sharp knife, slice one end of the cob off, making slicing about an inch from the stem end (the end opposite the hairy-looking silk).
- Remove husk/silk. Firmly grab the other end of the ear with the silk, and start to pull it away from the side you just cut. The husk and the silk should slide right off of the cob, leaving the cob with nothing but juicy kernels.
- Or microwave after shucking. If your husks are already shucked, you can follow the same instructions as above—but since there won't be a husk for them to steam inside of, you'll want to wrap these cobs in a damp paper towel before starting with the first step.
